The Neue Schleppdampfschiffsreederei Louis Meyer GmbH & Co. KG established in 1907 in Hamburg was initially offering port towage services to seagoing vessels. Since 2019 we have evolved to providing maritime assets to harbour tug operators and can be seen as an alternative to traditional ship finance.

We focus our expertise in the towage sector to provide state-of-the-art newbuild harbour tugs to tug operators. Our competences lie within structuring and realizing bareboat based medium to long-term leasing solutions for fleet growth and renewal. Our service is an alternative to traditional ship finance.

Medium to long-term durations (5-10+ years)
Flexible durations and rates with optional periods
Purchase options or obligations possible and not mandatory
The tug is built after the individual specifications of the operator

For a new project we require an initial duration of 5 years. Following options with shorter durations are possible.

Our harbour tugs

About us

We are Lisa and Edvin Kohlsaat. We have met each other during our studies of maritime economics and port management at the Jade University of applied sciences. Lisas background includes operational positions at marine surveyors, container and bulk shipping lines.

Edvins background stretches from wholesale to expeditors before his studies. His great-great grandfather Jean-Louis Meyer established the company in 1907 which has been family owned and led since then. Lisa and Edvin married in 2017 and Lisa joined the company in 2018. The company is equally owned by Edvin and his sister Aira-Victoria Kohlsaat-Richter who are representing the fifth generation.
